			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In order to love anyone else, you have to learn to love yourself first. There are many forms of advice about how you can learn to love yourself, some that is good and other things that you have to take with a grain of salt.</p>
<p>One of the most important things about learning to love yourself is that you have to take time for your own needs. You have to really soul search, and be realistic about who you are. You also need to know that if you are feeling helpless, or worthless, this is counter productive. No matte what the circumstances are, or what you have done, it isn&#8217;t anything that can&#8217;t be forgiven in one way or another. If you have been hurt in the past, abused perhaps, that is preventing you from loving yourself, then you need to find some help, and learn to let this go. It wasn&#8217;t your fault, and you have nothing to be or feel ashamed of.</p>
<p>You also need to have a positive self image of yourself as well. This means that you should find the things that you are really good at, and improve on them. It also means that you need to change your mindset about how you feel about yourself, and one way you can do this is look yourself in the mirror every morning and tell the image you see there that you love them, and they are a good person. This may seem a little awkward at first, but it is important to improve your self esteem. The image we have of yourselves is often quite different than the one that others see, and ours is usually more negative. Only you can change this, and telling yourself in front of the mirror is a good start.</p>
<p>Play up your successes and when you do a good job at something, pat yourself on the back for it. Focus on all the positive things you do in your every day life, whether it is holding down a job, and going to school at the same time, or helping someone less fortunate than you are. Do the best you can at every task you do, and make sure you acknowledge this. Don&#8217;t let doubts and negative feelings get in the way of your goals, and always tell yourself if you do make a mistake that it is just a learning experience, and not a set back.</p>
<p>By learning to love yourself, it will make a big impact not only on your life, but the lives of everyone around you as well. You will have more confidence, and self esteem, and this will rub off on others, and they will definitely start to perceive you in a different light. People will want to be around you more, look up to you more, and you will find that special person that makes your life complete. By loving yourself, you can love other people for who they are.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are keen to learn how to gain confidence quickly, then you need to focus on finding areas where small changes can be easily made that translate into big changes in your confidence. This is the smart way of building your confidence.</p>
<p>People look at confidence in different ways, but one useful way to think about it is that confidence is how much you trust yourself. Trusting yourself means trusting that you will do what you will say and that you have the ability to follow through. Confident people believe in themselves and their abilities.</p>
<p>So, if we think of confidence as being the ability to trust yourself, how would you respond if I asked you &#8220;Are you trustworthy and reliable?&#8221;</p>
<p>Most people would say that they were trustworthy and reliable. And of course, most people are trustworthy, but even then, can you remember times when you:</p>
<p>?Said you were going to cut down on eating junk food but when someone brought chocolates to the office, you had a piece&#8230;or three</p>
<p>?Said you would make four more sales calls before leaving work but left after only making two.</p>
<p>?Said you wouldn&#8217;t check your Blackberry for the next hour but then couldn&#8217;t resist having a &#8220;quick look&#8221;</p>
<p>Each of these examples points towards someone who cannot be trusted to keep their word to themselves. You might be trustworthy with other people, but you can&#8217;t trust yourself to do what you say you will do.</p>
<p>It may not seem like much when you press that snooze button after promising to yourself to go for a run on Sunday morning. But in actual fact, each time you say you&#8217;ll do something and don&#8217;t, you are eroding a bit of trust in yourself. You said you would do something and you didn&#8217;t do it.</p>
<p>If you do this all the time, then it should come as no surprise when you make big promises to yourself and you don&#8217;t believe yourself. Because you have set up a pattern where you promise yourself things and don&#8217;t deliver, it becomes second nature to not feel like your word means anything. This undermines your confidence big time.</p>
<p>How many people say &#8220;I&#8217;m sticking to the diet this time&#8221; knowing that there is a voice in the back of their mind saying &#8220;Yeah right&#8221;. And this is totally related to confidence. Self-Confidence is all about whether you trust yourself to succeed. It&#8217;s all about having faith in yourself to achieve things. If you hardly ever do what you say you will do, then it&#8217;s very hard to have faith in yourself.</p>
<p>Action Step</p>
<p>For the next few days, make a promise to yourself (and keep this one!) that you will only say you&#8217;ll do something if you are ABSOLUTELY sure that you&#8217;ll do it.</p>
<p>If you aren&#8217;t sure if you will do something, then don&#8217;t promise to do it.</p>
<p>Making this small change in your life, will mean that your word becomes your bond. You will be amazed at how quickly you start to believe in yourself again and how quickly your confidence is boosted.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I don&#8217;t know if you&#8217;ve been there. I certainly have. It&#8217;s when you feel like you can&#8217;t do anything right. It&#8217;s when even simple things seem hard. It&#8217;s when life seems to be going so bad that you can&#8217;t believe it. This is around the time that you start losing confidence in yourself. This is around the time people lose faith in themselves and their abilities. And they start using the word &#8220;failure&#8221; to describe themselves. I can honestly say that those times in my life when I&#8217;ve felt like that have been truly awful.</p>
<p>When you are feeling low and miserable, it can be hard to try and maintain or build your confidence. After all, you feel like you have plenty of evidence that you are no good since you can&#8217;t seem to do anything right.</p>
<p>The key here is to change your focus.</p>
<p>When we feel down, we start focusing on what&#8217;s bad. My memory when I have been down has seemed to be very selective. Only remembering the bad things that have happened in my past. And only remembering the bad things in my life at the moment. Any good stuff is discounted. Any achievements are forgotten. It&#8217;s poison for our self-confidence.</p>
<p>So the first thing is to change your focus. To do this, an easy thing to do is to write down any successes you have had in life.</p>
<p>When you achieve something you feel good about yourself. The time when you feel most confident is straight after you have accomplished something. That?s why they say that for salespeople, the best time to go cold-calling is straight after you have made a sale. That?s when you feel most confident.</p>
<p>If you want to be confident, you need to keep fresh in your mind the times when you were successful. It?s much easier to feel successful when you can recall the feeling from earlier.</p>
<p>And I mean anything! When you feel really down, it may be hard to think of any achievements but if you think hard you will have to acknowledge things that you have done in the past that have been successes. Remember, even the smallest of successes counts.</p>
<p>Once you start writing, you&#8217;ll find it easier and easier to come up with successes. The aim is to write down at least 30-50, preferably more.</p>
<p>The trick here is to not start saying &#8220;Oh, but that&#8217;s not a real success&#8221;. Just stay focused on anything that made a difference in your life or someone else&#8217;s. As you get better at this, you&#8217;ll be able to find success in almost everything you do.</p>
<p>Try and do this every day if you can. Once you have a nice long list, carry it around with you everywhere. Look at it at least once a day. Re-live and celebrate your successes. It will provide you with inspiration when things are going well and ?insulation? when things aren?t going so well. Either way, it will drive you on to more success.<br />

In an age where girls and women alike suffer from some form of eating disorders brought on by issues with their self image, self esteem related problems have definitely become a major issue. In America alone, 20 percent of college women suffer from bulimia. This is the age where many feel the need to be slim and trim and beautiful in order to be accepted by society at large.</p>
<p>The truth is, low self esteem can be caused by a great number of things. Feelings of jealousy, envy, emotional insecurity, loneliness, guilt, and even self pity can contribute to low self esteem. Symptoms of low self esteem include denial, the inability to express one?s feelings, a heavy dependence on others to feel good about one?s self, blaming others for one?s misfortunes, and not having personal boundaries.</p>
<p>Low self esteem is really about not valuing or having high regard for one?s self. People suffering from low self esteem feel inferior, as though they are not in charge of their lives. They feel victimized, ostracized from society, and unimportant to everyone around them. This ?self perception? includes how they perceive their emotions, beliefs, and feelings at any one given time. It has a direct impact on the way people think, feel, and interact amongst other people, and the choices they make are also directly linked to the level of self esteem they have at that particular point in time.</p>
<p>So it is definitely important that we know the underlying factors that may affect our level of self esteem. Low self esteem has become a prevalent problem in modern times, especially considering our busy schedules and the state of the world as we know it. But the factors that affect self esteem may be different for each individual. As we move through the various stages in our lives we may experience different stresses, different situations that may cause the level of our self esteem to alter. This level of self esteem is often affected by the relationships we have with other people, because it is only natural for us that we want ourselves to be valued in the eyes of others.</p>
<p>Let?s face it, how many of us are guilty of comparing ourselves with others? Whether it?s in terms of success or even just how slim the other person is, we may have envied another person enough to become negative to ourselves. Some people obsess over this, and eventually fall into a state of depression as they berate themselves for not being successful enough, thin enough, smart enough, loved enough, etc.</p>
<p>If you are guilty of this, then here?s a suggestion: STOP!</p>

However, before you can think of achieving that personal success, it is important for you to know how to build your self esteem so you can have the confidence to go after the success that you crave.</p>
<p>How do you build your self esteem then?</p>
<p>Remember the word ?self? in self esteem. It is all about YOU. Forget about what others perceive of you; if you want to be more confident, you need to change the way you perceive yourself. Self esteem comes from within, not without, so while it may be difficult for you to change your self perspective over night, you can however take small baby steps to get yourself in the right direction, and eventually you will become a more confident person as you build an impenetrable sense of self worth.</p>
<p>You need to eliminate self doubt and all self destructive beliefs. Doubting yourself will get you nowhere, in fact it will only limit your chances of success. Take criticism in stride, and shrug off anything you may feel to be negative or derogatory. Be assertive in the way you accept criticism, thank the one who may critique you in a negative way, and then brush off the negativity. Keep yourself physically and mentally fit. With a sound mind and body, it would be easier for you to feel good about yourself. Exude confidence even if you don?t feel like it on any given day. Take care of yourself and set aside some time just for yourself so you can get a clear head when you need it.<br />

It regulates a healthy sense of self worth, and enables people to get through their daily lives with a sense of accomplishment with each obstacle that they face. <p>Often people tend to compare themselves to others, and that is the genesis of self doubt. When you compare yourself to others, especially those who may be more successful than you, you may feel a certain inferiority complex. If left unchecked, it may worsen into something even more serious. You will begin to lose all sense of self worth, and the worthlessness you feel will put you off from any endeavour or challenges that come your way. The lack of confidence brought about by the lack of success is a common ailment that plagues many people these days, but you should never allow it to have such a great impact on you.</p>
<p>There is a reason why the successful people are successful. If you analyze each and every one of them you will find that they have a common element that enables them to be the success that they are today. That common element is a strong sense of self esteem, an unshakable resolve and confidence in their abilities. If you wish to be successful, then you will need to cultivate these traits in you.</p>
<p>The one thing that you can do to help yourself in building up your self esteem is to read motivational books. For instance, I used to have that very problem when I was younger, but having read a motivational book on how I could deal with people of authority, I came to the realisation that we are all in fact equals. We should not allow others to influence how we interact with others, and if we appear meek to figures of authority then we will never earn their respect.</p>
<p>Another great way for you to build your self esteem is to set for yourself daily goals. These goals can be simple every day tasks that you need to get through. Set a deadline for yourself with these tasks, and with each accomplishment, mentally strike the task off the list and give yourself a pat on the back. You can expand on this concept by adding more complex tasks as you go along, but be sure to set for yourself smaller goals along the way so that you will be able to build up your confidence as you go along and reach for the goal at the end of the horizon.</p>
